Quilts of Hope
Quilts of Hope is a charity initiative set up by crafters.
Quilters and patchworkers across Australia create blocks designed to a theme. The theme for 2018 is ‘Fun in the Sun’. Blocks are then collated and turned into quilts by volunteers. Quilts are then auctioned to raise funds for children with cancer or personalized and given to the children to enjoy.
The CraftAlive shows feature Quilts of Hope activities including a display of new quilts and the opportunity to sign-up to make a block. In addition, many shows feature a sewing or quilting room where volunteers can get hands on onsite.

Everyone who donates a block goes into the draw to win $10,000 towards a long arm quilting machine, donated by Hans Martini from Know How Sewing Essentials.
It is the third year running Hans has donated the huge prize.
All fabric is donated by Ella Blue fabrics. The bright colours and enchanting patterns are perfect for happy quilts for kiddos! Find your local Ella Blue stockist here – http://www.ellabluefabrics.com.
CraftAlive supports Quilts of Hope in many ways including the logistics of sending out the kits and
collating the blocks. Our aim is to raise as much funding as possible for Challenge.
The charity supported is called Challenge, a not-for-profit organisation who focuses on the immediate everyday needs of children and families from the time of diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
